Car Miracle!

This week started off with a massive miracle! Remember how our car was dying and we just kept praying to make it to last Monday when the mechanic was there at the church building in town to fix all the cars? Well on Monday, right after we had finished all the things we needed to do, and right as we pulled up into the church parking lot, we broke down. Our front right tire actually came off, the part that holds the tire to the car broke because who ever put the tire on put it on way too tight. We should have broken down way before then, but our faith and God's hand took us right to the perfect time and place to crash down. We felt so blessed!

The hard part is that we haven't had a car all week. This was hard because we were physically really exhausted, but more than that, it was hard missing appointments that we had scheduled. No one really has phones so we couldn't call and cancel, and we couldn't walk up a lot of the roads because they are a bit sketch or just too far away. But we still were able to have some really great lessons and meet some amazing people!

The best thing that happened this week is Macelynn, the cute 19 year old we have been teaching, got baptized! She kept saying she looked like an Angel in her white baptism dress, and she really did:) She is planning on going on a mission in one year and so my favorite lesson we had with her this week was when we taught her about temples. I love the pictures of the temples and the rooms inside, they made me feel at home and at peace. And she really loved the pictures as well. Honestly, she has been so prepared and ready to be baptized. Her  family has been taught by missionaries for 10 years. It just shows how even if we teach people, and they aren't ready now, it all has an impact and helps them be ready to come to Christ in the future!

Last night a member whose son we are teaching gave us so many many bananas! So we made one of my favorite Pohnpeian treats, fried banana pancake thingys...Its just a bit of flour sugar and water with a ton of mashed bananas fried up on the stove. SO YUMMY. Just straight fried bananas are pretty good too.

Good luck with school starting and whatnot!
